The Main Level
Climbing the steps to the front door of 59 Franklin Street for the first time can be quite a magical experience. One is filled with anticipation as to what awaits inside the majestic appearance of this hilltop house nestled in the Annapolis downtown streets of prominent neighborhood, Murray Hill.
The Main Level of Franklin House welcomes one in with a quiet gusto, boasting a foyer that immediately sends one's imagination back to a time and place over a century ago. Its grand entrance artfully carries the eye immediately to a staircase that will have to wait - there is still 3,000 square feet to explore. A pleasant airiness is created by 10ft ceilings throughout, with 8ft French doors which beg an invitation to enter each room, serving to either connect the six spacious rooms, or quietly separate - notably ideal when using this space for corporate purposes.
Connecting is exactly what happens here. Warmth and elegance can be found throughout in the attention to architectural detail and contemporary colors. Although Franklin House has been transformed over time since its 1908 beginnings, it is still bound by its original heart pine floors, banisters and cedar window boxes. Whilst remaining neutral in its historic presence, The Main Level allows for any event to take on its own shape, identity and cause. It encourages togetherness and conversation; discussion and fellowship.
The classic colonial design of The Main Level allows for easy flow between rooms, permitting a very comfortable ambience with gatherings upwards of 120 guests. Conversely, when utilizing only a fraction of the space, the foyer provides a favorite and unique area to dine for a more intimate group of 20. Your needs will serve as a true reflection of how this space lends itself to capturing and creating the ‘perfect’ occasion for anyone.
Let us not forget the basics; with a full kitchen, wheelchair access and 2 large half bathrooms, The Main Level has you and your guests covered, thereby making it a classic ‘must see’ space for your next meeting!
